Did you know that at least 24 women die at the hands of domestic violence every year in Utah?

Yet in 2012, the Legal Aid Society of Salt Lake and Utah Legal Services helped 4,010 Utah women obtain protective orders and escape the same fate?

Did you know in 2006 (the year our Justice Gap study was commissioned), 67.5% of low-income Utah households faced a civil legal dispute, but only 13% received help from an attorney?

Yet in 2012, “AND JUSTICE FOR ALL” agencies — the Disability Law Center, Legal Aid Society of Salt Lake, and Utah Legal Services — helped almost 34,000 of Utah’s most vulnerable citizens access life-saving legal aid.

Do you remember when Utah Legal Services helped 59 Thai ‘slaves’ in Delta, Utah escape squalid living conditions and indentured servitude in the largest human-trafficking case in U.S. history?

Or when the efforts of the Disability Law Center led to the closure of a substandard nursing home after a disabled woman was found strangled to death from improperly-used bed restraints?

Didn’t know that? Well now you can have the most up-to-date information about your favorite organization saving the world…
