We are overwhelmed with gratitude for the incredible support shown at this year’s Justice Rising Breakfast. Together, our community raised $ $430,740—including $170,000 in matching donations—ensuring that more Utahns will have access to life-changing legal help.
A heartfelt thank you to the Florence J. Gillmor Foundation for providing a $100,000 match and for their ongoing commitment to our mission. As the lead supporters of the James B. Lee Justice Center, your vision and generosity continue to shape the future of access to justice in Utah.
Special thanks to Evelyn Brown Lee for her generous gift of $35,000 in honor of her husband, the late James B. Lee—trustee of the Foundation and namesake of our building. His legacy of service continues to inspire and guide our work.
We are deeply grateful to the Utah Bar Foundation for their $50,000 gift in honor of the late Judge Magistrate Brooke Wells and keynote speaker Lowry Snow, and for joining the Friends of Brooke Wells to provide the $170,000 match. Judge Wells’ legacy of service lives on through the impact of these gifts.
Special thanks to our outstanding speakers:
- Lowry Snow (Snow Jensen & Reece, P.C.), our keynote, who inspired us with his commitment to access to justice;
- Rob Rice (Ray Quinney & Nebeker), who shared about need in Utah and the efforts of the legal community to make a difference;
- Amy Sorenson (Snell & Wilmer), whose remarks moved us to action;
- Mike Menssen (Mayer Brown), our Leadership Chair who helped rally support; and
- Rebecca Ryon, our Board Chair, whose guidance and steady hand led the morning.
Our sincere thanks go to the Family Law Section, our presenting sponsor, whose steadfast support over the years has made this breakfast possible and helped strengthen Utah’s civil legal aid network.
We also extend our appreciation to EnergySolutions, Enbridge Energy, Utah Litigation Section, and the Paralegal Division of the Utah State Bar for their generous sponsorships. Your partnership allows us to expand our reach and help more people in need.
And to every donor, volunteer, and advocate: your belief in equal justice changes lives every day. Thank you for standing with us and making a difference.
