Utah Legal Services helped Camila get the benefits she needed after work accident.

Camila, a farm worker legally working in the U.S., had a stroke as the result of a work accident. The stroke left her with no use of the right side of her body. In addition to being in a wheelchair, she had memory loss and expressive aphasia, which made it difficult for her to recall words.

Utah Legal Services represented Camila in applying to become a U.S. citizen. ULS worked with Camila and her doctor to submit a disability waiver so that Camila did not have to take the English language test and the civics test. The disability waiver and the citizenship application were both approved, and Camila is now a U.S. citizen.

Your gift can help provide legal assistance for other farm workers and legal migrants who need legal assistance.
